Leszek Giec Upper-Silesian Medical Centre of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice (GCM) is one of the largest multi-profile medical centres in the country as well as one of the largest hospitals in Poland. At GCM specialised and multi-profile departments closely collaborate with each other in the process of diagnosis and treatment of patients, thereby providing comprehensive care. Over 160.000 patients are treated annually at GCM. The Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Centre of GCM is renowned and leading in the country, and has been specialising for over 35 years in the most complex medical procedures. The cardiology department consists of 52 beds including 12 cardiac intensive care unit beds.
GCM and NRIO collaborate on a soon-to-be-approved national clinical study focused on patients with recurrent VTs (SMART-VT trial). A direct cooperation between GCM and NRIO will be continued within the scope of the STOPSTORM trial.

Prof. Wojciech Wojakowski
Prof. Wojciech Wojakowski is a Professor of Cardiology and head of Cardiology Department at GCM, where patients will be hospitalised during clinical trial. His tasks include: design of study protocol and coordination of clinical trial at GCM.
Prof. Krzysztof Gołba
Prof. Krzysztof Gołba is a Professor of Cardiology and head of Electrocardiology Department at GCM, where patients will undergo electrophysiology study. His tasks include: participation in the preparation of study protocol, follow-up of patients, ICD readouts.
Dr. Jacek Bednarek
Dr. Jacek Bednarek is a cardiologist and senior electrophysiologist at GCM. Dr. Bednarek will be involved in the conduction of clinical trial. His tasks include: design of study protocol, patient enrolment, mapping of arrhythmia using 3D electro-anatomical system.
Dr. Tomasz Jadczyk
Dr. Tomasz Jadczyk is an assistant professor and medical doctor at GCM. Dr. Jadczyk’s tasks: design of study protocol, participation in patient enrolment, mapping of arrhythmia using 3D electro-anatomical system, conduction of follow-up visits.
Dr. Radoslaw Kurzelowski
Dr. Radoslaw Kurzelowski is a cardiologist at GCM. His tasks include: design of study protocol, participation in patient enrolment, conduction of follow-up visits.
